This is an excellent xc complete suspension bike. Perfect for grinding out miles on the tracks, the 29" wheels are fast and roll over obsticals easier than the standard 26" and the 100mm of travel front and rear take in the rest. When I made the jump from 26 to 29 it felt different however after the first ride I was encouraged. This bike is equipped with a "brain" connected to the rear suspension which is special to Specialized. Essentially, it regulates the quantity of travel in the rear shock, more when your not pedaling (downhills) and less or totally locked when you are pedaling (rising). The general result of the brain is to make it a more effective at climbing up and pedaling without sacrificing any shock absorption.
